About Us

Accessible Communication for the Deaf (ACD) is a full-service sign language interpreter referral agency that began operations in south Florida in 2003. Six years later, ACD-West was established in Tampa Bay, which accelerated brand growth as a premier American Sign Language interpretation company.

Its strong ties with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community are a result of the founder’s dedication and passion for sign language. Many of ACD’s American Sign Language interpreters hold certifications from national and state associations, when required by the client. These certifying organizations include the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (FRID).

In 2014, ACD was acquired by Interpreters Unlimited, Inc. and currently operates under the IU Group of Companies (Interpreters Unlimited, Albors and Alnet, Arkansas Spanish Interpreters and Translators (ASIT) and Accessible Communication for the Deaf). Headquartered in San Diego, California and branded as the Sign Language Services Division, ACD’s stellar reputation and name have become synonymous with quality.
